Hunting for votes

The unfortunate massacre of swans at St Thomas' Bay should remind us again of the "I am the law" attitude of Maltese hunters.

God knows how many other similar acts have been going on out at sea with nobody watching. Is this what we call a tradition, a hobby, a sport?

This event should also remind us of the reluctance of the two main political parties, ultimately intent only on hunting for votes, to take a major stand in favour of the environment and ban hunting once and for all.
