Hunters are ruining your reputation - comment
Italy is uniquely positioned to pressure the Maltese government on theissue of the massacre as the nearest G8 economy and
EU member. She can also hold her head up as a country that has dealt with hunter bullying since 1992 using state,
regional and NGO power to the extent that illegal killing of spring migrants is a tiny fraction of that previously encountered
and hunter numbers are in relentless decline. (Down from 2 million in 1980 to c. 800.000 today). We're also free
of Maltese hunter pressure (unlike Birdlife Malta who day-to-day live with this reality.... we can't all be Anna Giordano).
This pressure will continueand strengthen from Italy and we hope it will from elsewhere. Paul Tout
