The Moroccan National Tourist Office in London...
sent the following reply by post (dated 31/07/01) to a fax from I.C." Pretty positive I think" was his comment.
<snip> Dear Mr. C. I acknowledge receipt of your letter in relation with Club-Med's project
and its negative impact on the wildlife for which I thank you. I am writing to inform you that up to now the Moroccan
National Tourist Office in London has not yet officially advised of the existence of such a project in the Tifnit area.
Moreover, The Moroccan National Parks Authority together with the British Royal Society for the Protection of Birds have
joined forces to implement plans aimed at preserving the last colony of the Bald Ibis. In the light of the said,
the Moroccan Tourist Office in London has forwarded the content of your letter to our Head Office in Morocco, in order to
verify the accuracy of this information and also raise the awareness of the authorities in charge for the protection of the
environment. Thanking you again for bringing this matter to our attention, we remain Yours sincerely

LETTER OF PROTEST Dear Sir / Madam, Every year we organise birdwatching tours to Southern Morocco. The absolute
highlight of the tours is the observation of the Bald Ibis near the coast. We herewith strongly protest against the
plans to building of a tourism complex near their breeding site. If the colony will disappear we see no reason anymore
to visit Morocco with our groups of birdwatchers and we will inform interested birdwatchers about the reason we do not visit
Morocco anymore. With kindest regards, Edo van Uchelen (manager / director) Eco Tourist Services

Dear Mr David Camilleri Dear Mr David Conlin I happened to be made aware of your message to Royal Air
Maroc about the Bald Ibis and the threat of its extinction if it's not protected in time. Please be assured that
you can relay on us to transmit your message to any departments or ministeries involved in environmental matters.
Your sincerely Hassan Hamzaoui Royal Air Maroc
