Club Mediterranee is planning to build a new,
vast, holiday resort in Tifnit, Morocco, immediately adjacent to the last remaining worldwide colony of the Bald Ibis - Ibis
chauve - and intruding on its feeding grounds in the Souss-Massa National Park. The Bald Ibis is now worldwide ONLY to be
found in Morocco and the devastation or reduction of its habitat could lead to its extinction. We are sure that the Moroccan
people, Government and the tourist industry do not want this to happen.
As a potential tourist and nature lover we
urge you to use your influence with both your Government and Club Med to avert this tragedy. As experts you will be aware
of the increase in popularity of Eco-tourism. We feel it only fair to advise you that we will strongly advise our families,
relatives, friends and professional contacts against visiting holiday destinations where such unavoidable natural disasters
are permitted. We are sure that you will draw the correct conclusions and take appropriate action.

Le Club Mediterranée projette de construire un vaste complexe de vacances à Tifnit, Maroc,
immédiatement à côté de la dernière colonie au monde d'Ibis chauve et occupant une partie de ses zones de nourrissage dans
le Parc
National de Souss-Massa. L'Ibis chauve ne se reproduit plus à présent qu'au Maroc et la destruction ou la réduction
de ses habitats pourrait conduire à son extinction. Je suis sûr que le Peuple Marocain, son gouvernement et l'industrie touristique
ne désire pas que cela se produise.
En tant que touriste potentiel dans votre pays et amoureux de la nature, je vous
demande d'user de votre influence auprès de votre gouvernement et de Club Méditerranée pour empêcher cette tragédie. Vous
êtes certainement conscients de la popularité croissante de l'éco-tourisme. Je tiens à vous faire savoir que je conseillerai
à mes parents, amis et contacts professionnels d'éviter des destinations de vacances où de tels désastres naturels sont autorisés.
Je suis sûr que vous saurez tirer les conclusions appropriées et prendre les décisions qui s'imposent.
